Leveraging recent advances in distributed computing technologies and the continuous decrease in the cost performance ratio of commodity hardware a rich and powerful collection of computing resources is now available to meet the ever growing appetite for computing power of the High Throughput Computing community. More and more users with large interdependent ensembles of jobs are looking for tools that will enable them to manage these complex workloads from the comfort of the personal computer. We will discuss the challenges and the opportunities we face when developing, building and supporting such tools.
